Government says annual inflation slows down to 6.45% on Monday
MOSCOW, Aug 5 (PRIME) – Russia’s annual inflation slowed down to 6.45% on the year on Monday from 6.49% a week earlier, the Economic Development Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
"The accelerating decline of fruit and vegetable prices and persistent deflation in the services sector are the main deterring factors. The food price growth, excluding fruit and vegetables, slowed down to 0.1% on the week in the reporting week from 0.2% on the week a week earlier. In the sector of non-food goods, inflation remained at the last week’s level," the ministry said.
Fruit and vegetable prices fell by 3.14% on the week from July 27 to Monday after 2.78% a week earlier. The prices have increased by 4.22% since January 1 as of Monday.
The food prices rose by 7.46% on the year as of Monday, food without fruit and vegetables by 7.89%. the non-food goods prices grew by 7.79% as of Monday, the gasoline price rose by 6.12%.
